Joey's Story...

Joey passed away from an accidental overdose August 20, 2020 and not a day goes by that we don’t think of him or that unforgettable smile.

Joey had a good heart. He was the kind of friend you could always count on and the kind of brother and uncle who showed up with love, laughter, and presence. His smile lit up a room, and his love for his family ran deep.

Addiction does not discriminate. It does not care how much you are loved, how close your family is, or how kind your heart may be. Drug addiction and overdose are not moral failures—and the stigma surrounding them only keeps people suffering in silence.

We share Joey’s story to honor his life, to remember who he truly was, and to help break the harmful myths surrounding addiction. Compassion, education, and connection save lives—and that is the heart of The Remembering Joey K Foundation.

The Remembering Joey K Foundation remembers and honors the legacy of Joey K. Always remembered. Always loved.
